FAQ

A little about us

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE NOCO TUTORING & ENRICHMENT?

What sets us apart from other companies is our tutors. We are fully owned and operated by experienced and highly trained teachers, and helping kids is the driving force behind everything we do. Our tutors represent the heart of our company, and embody our belief in "connection before curriculum." We want students to have the chance to develop a meaningful relationship with their tutor, where they can feel safe to take learning risks, and encouraged to grow in both skills and confidence. Tutoring should be something that students can look forward to each week, and a strong connection with a highly qualified tutor is the leading factor in making that happen

WHAT WILL TUTORING DO FOR MY CHILD?

Tutoring can provide an individually tailored learning experience for students, with an experienced teacher capable of targeting learning needs using research-based best intervention practices. Aside from academic gains, tutoring has been shown to boost confidence, increase learner engagement and enjoyment, develop helpful study skills and work habits, and improve student's overall attitude towards school and learning.

WHO WILL MY TUTOR BE?

As outlined by the U.S. Department of Education, evidence-based best practice for tutoring includes using teachers, teaching candidates, or recently retired teachers. All of our tutors fall into one of these categories. Your child will be personally placed with one of our tutors based on information you provide on their grade, strengths, needs, and learning style connecting directly to the tutor's experience and background. Once you are placed, your tutor will reach out to learn more about your child, set goals for tutoring, and create a custom schedule and plan for tutoring.

WHAT AGES AND SUBJECTS DO YOU COVER?

We have tutors with training and experience from Early Childhood through 12th grade. Our tutors can cover all core subjects k-12 as well as test prep including SAT/ACT/GED. We also have tutors able to support Advanced Placement classes including AP Calculus, College Algebra, AP Trigonometry, AP Geometry, AP US History, AP Biology, AP Literature and Comp, and all levels of Spanish. Our tutoring staff includes teachers with background in literacy/math intervention, Special Education, and gifted/talented. Finally, we have tutors who are experienced in supporting students with executive functioning and organizational needs related to academics.

WHEN AND WHERE DO YOU TUTOR?

We tutor in a wide range of locations around northern Colorado, including in client's homes, local libraries, coffee shops, and schools. We even have some tutors who set up classroom spaces in their own homes to work with students! Our tutors work before and after school, during school hours to accommodate homeschooled/online school students and high school off-block periods, and weekend hours. We know how busy life with kids can be, so we strive to provide flexibility in our scheduling and location to fit families busy schedules. Tutoring times and locations are determined between clients and tutors based on what works best for all involved. We also offer online tutoring for additional flexibility in scheduling/locations!

WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?

Our commitment is month-to-month, with dates/times agreed on between you and your tutor. We suggest 1-3 hours/week in either private or small group tutoring to see the most meaningful gains for your child. You will set a schedule for the month with your tutor in advance, and will be billed up front for the sessions scheduled. At the end of the month you and your tutor will work out a schedule for the following month. There is no up-front testing or required packages to purchase - we prefer to collaborate with classroom teachers and utilize school testing and teacher input to allow us to hit the ground running from the first session with our students.
